At https://aifortheplanet.org/ you can find a new program, initiative, or whatever this is.
Funded by UNESCO, UN environment programme, Microsoft, and many others, it seems they want to apply Artificial Intelligence to the Climate Crisis.
Why is this "classic"? Well, it can be only one of the two most used problem solving approaches that humankind knows about:
- use a tool that you have (but not necessarily understand) to solve any give problem. Say "If you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail."
- if you come across a problem way beyond your comprehension, use a solution that seems to be a one-fits-all-solution, of which your intellectual grasp of is similarly limited.
I wonder: which one is it?
